This Software Package supports the following IPC@CHIP^® processor families:

• SC1x3 family (SC123 and SC143) and SC23 family.
  The software for IEC-Platforms based on these processors is a new Beta version. Only the Paradigm Compiler is supported to build a generated RTS-Frame.
  
• SC1x family (SC11 and SC13).
  The RTS, templates, and samples of the release V1.01 are integrated in this Beta Version without modifications. Only the Borland Compiler is supported to build a generated RTS-Frame.
  

The IEC-Platform Builder Tool now supports all three families.

If support of the SC123/SC143/SC23 processor family is not required or wanted, the following information is relevant.

• The last CoDeSys@CHIP-SDK-V1.01 Release for the SC11/SC13 processor family is integrated in this Beta Version, without any changes. An upgrade to this CoDeSys@CHIP-SDK-Edition 10 2007 Beta Release is not neccessary.
  
• However, it is advised to upgrade the CoDeSys V2.3 installation with the Service Pack 8.4 (CoDeSys_v2384.exe), because several Compiler Bugs in the used 20-Bit 186 Compiler have been solved in respect to Service Pack 4.7. The V1.01 Release was tested with the Service Pack 4.7. For this Beta Release the incorporated V1.01 Release has not been tested with this new Service Pack 8.4.
  

If an upgrade of the CoDeSys@CHIP SDK is wanted, please read the "Upgrading the CoDeSys@CHIP SDK" section (below).

To use CoDeSys V2.3 with your SC123/SC143 based Platform (DK61, EK61) you couldo install this Beta Version.
Please check (under "Start"->"Settings"->"Control Panel"->"Add or Remove Programs") first if an installation of the CoDeSys@CHIP SDK already exists on your machine. Only if an SDK is not installed, the "Upgrading the CoDeSys@CHIP SDK" section an be skipped.

To use CoDeSys V2.3 with your SC23 based Platform (DK55) you have to install this Beta Version.
Please check (under "Start"->"Settings"->"Control Panel"->"Add or Remove Programs") first if an installation of the CoDeSys@CHIP SDK already exists on your machine. Only if an SDK is not installed, the "Upgrading the CoDeSys@CHIP SDK" section an be skipped.

Before the new SDK can be installed, the previous version must be deinstalled first. If modifications to the Templates and or Samples were made, please execute the following steps to prevent them from being lost (The complete TSP_Creator directory will be removed):

• Copy the "CoDeSys@CHIP SDK" installation directory to a new directory (e.g. "CoDeSys@CHIP SDK_V101"). Note: Do not Move or Rename the Installation dirctory (because of deinstallation).
• Deinstall the current SDK (previous version). This can be done via the "Uninstall" option of the installed SDK (via the "Start" -> "Programs" -> "Beck IPC GmbH" -> "CoDeSys@CHIP SDK" -> "Uninstall" start menu entry).
• Check if the original installation directory is empty. If not, delete the contents (caused by modifications to the files probably).
• Install the new SDK to the same installation directory. Follow the instructions in the setup.
• To restore your modifications for the SC13 Templates and/or samples into the new installation, you have to merge the previously saved installation into the new installed SDK. Take care only to copy files from the old "templates" directory into the new "templates/Embedded/SC13" directory and files from the old "samples" directory into the new "samples/Embedded" directory. Do not overwrite any of the other files. From the old templates, the files and subdirectories starting with "pbc_ext_" belong to the SC1x3 processor family and cannot be copied.
  
  To restore your modifications for the SC123/SC143 Templates and/or samples into the new installation, you have to merge the previously saved installation into the new installed SDK. Take care only to copy files from the old "templates" directory into the new "templates/Full/SC1x3" directory and files from the old "samples" directory into the new "samples/Full" directory. Do not overwrite any of the other files.
  
  Any change may lead to loss of functionality. Please perform this step with great caution, to prevent loss of other information. It is advised to use a tool like "WinMerge" to compare the contents first, before overwriting.
